If you didn't hear, Marvel recently announced three mystery movies to kick off their Phase Four slate. What's interesting is that these films will follow the conclusion of the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War" series, meaning they likely won't be a continuation of any of the core characters on the roster right now. That means no Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, etc.

Assuming that's true, these three mystery films could be introductions for new characters into the MCU (or they could be planned sequels for new characters on the horizon such as Chadwick Boesman's Black Panther or Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange). Here are a few possibilities if that is the case (not counting "Inhumans" as it has already been pushed back to after "Infinity War").

1. Blade

Wesley Snipes has had several conversations with Marvel about joining the MCU as his long dormant vampire hunter Blade. Then came a recent rumor that Marvel was indeed planning a Blade film, though it would focus on his daughter with Snipes' character acting more as a mentor. This remains unconfirmed at this point but a an interesting possibility.

This strategy would help address Marvel's female problem by putting another butt-kicking woman front and center.

2. Captain America

Wait, what? Didn't I just say these films won't be a continuation of existing Avengers? Yes, I did, but this isn't the Captain America you all are thinking of.

Chris Evans' Captain America likely won't be around after "Infinity Wars" (or even "Civil War"), so he could be replaced by Sam Wilson/The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) or Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). This would follow the comic book storyline that unfolded after "Civil War" and keep one of Marvel's most popular film characters around at least in name.

3. Miles Morales

The MCU has been (rightly) criticized for it's lack of diversity, so putting Morales into a feature film would make sense.

For those that don't know, Morales is a bi-racial superhero who took up the Spider-Man mantle after Peter Parker. There were rumors that Morales would be the Spider-Man entering the MCU after Marvel and Sony struck a deal earlier this year, though Tom Holland was eventually cast as Peter Parker.

Morales could join Holland's Spidey in a film to headline Phase Four and introduce a new generation of heroes that will be around for years.
