North Carolina's recruiting class for 2016 is currently ranked number 12 in the nation which is pretty good but when you consider that that ranking makes their class the fifth best in the ACC maybe that's not so good at least for UNC standards. Currently the Tar Heels have commitments from power forward Tony Bradley and shooting guard Brandon Robinson, who committed a few weeks ago, but they are looking to add to that. Point guard Seventh Woods is done with the recruiting process and is almost ready to make a decision and UNC is on his final list, according to Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv.

Woods is considering just three schools at this point UNC, Georgetown and South Carolina. The 6 foot-2 point guard just finished up a visit at South Carolina where he reportedly had a good time. Woods has not said anything publicly about his visits but he is reportedly set to make his decision in the coming days.

Woods is a native of Columbia, South Carolina and Gamecocks head coach Frank Martin has recruited him hard as he tries to improve that program. As of right now many of the experts believe Woods is choosing between UNC and South Carolina but 247 Sports has the Gamecocks as the favorite to get his commitment.

Getting Woods is much more important for the Gamecocks than it is for the Tar Heels but it would still be disappointing if Roy Williams and company couldn't get him. Woods is ranked as the 41st overall player and the sixth best point guard in the 2016 class by 247 Sports and would be an instant boost to either school.

If Woods commits to South Carolina, UNC will be able to move on to other point guard recruits like De'Aaron Fox or Kobi Simmons. South Carolina, on the other hand, would take a major hit by losing out on Woods as he is from there and a growing program needs to keep their talented in-state players from playing college basketball out of state.

Woods is known for his incredible athleticism at the point guard spot as he is an above the rim finisher and very explosive but many view him more as an undersized two guard than a point. Woods is not the best passer and he doesn't have the best decision making ability but he does have the wow factor in that he will make plays that nobody else on the floor is able to. Expect an announcement at some point this week from the four-star guard and don't rule out the Tar Heels by any means.
