One of the many enjoyable aspects of Marvel's surprise hit "Guardians of the Galaxy" was the hilariously literal Drax the Destroyer, played by wrestler Dave Bautista. Not only was Drax a criminal with a heart of gold (which we are all suckers for), but his hysterical one-liners also provided several moments of levity throughout the movie.

According to Bautista, fans will get more background information on Drax in the sequel, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

"I don't think anybody would be upset with me sharing that I think that's what they want to do," Bautista told Cinema Blend. "I think that's the goal - is, you know, we wanna tell more of the stories of the characters, because the characters are really interesting. You know, I think that's what made Guardians so successful as characters. They really are interesting. They're a little - they're jaded. They're just not your cookie-cutter characters. They're definitely not boy scouts and girl scouts by any means, but I think that's kind of what made people able to relate to them. And I think, yeah, I think definitely they want to tap into some of that some more and tell more stories, which, as a fan, I'm excited to see."

We do know that Drax's wife and daughter were murdered by Ronan The Accuser (Lee Pace) who was dispatched via Infinity Stone in "Guardians." We also know that Drax has sworn vengeance against Thanos for masterminding Ronan's rise to power. We'll likely see more of that plot arc play out in "Vol. 2."

In the meantime, Bautista will next be seen as Mr. Hinx in the new James Bond film, "Spectre," due out on Nov. 6.
