Apple's excitement is quite palpable when it announced that all seven "Harry Potter" books are now available on the iBooks Store beginning Thursday. It is supposed to be historic in the sense that it is the first time one of the most iconic book series of all time is being sold by a major eBook retailer, according to The International Business Times. That is all very well from Apple's point of view, but what about the consumers who probably read the books or eBooks already?

The good news is that the seven "Harry Potter" ebooks will be "enhanced editions," which is exclusive to the iBook Store. Aside from the original text, the eBooks will feature interactive animations (think about the Daily Prophet) and elaborate artworks that will supposedly bring the beloved series to life. The iBook editions is touted as "unique" and special, as well as to be particularly enjoyed with iPad or the iPhone. J.K. Rowling's annotations are also included, detailing her thoughts in her spectacular literary journey.

"I'm thrilled to see the Harry Potter books so beautifully realised on iBooks for the digital world; the artwork and animations in these enhanced editions bring the stories alive in a delightful new way," J.K. Rowling said in the Apple press statement.

The "Harry Potter" books were only made available for digital download in the Pottermore shop, which Rowling founded in a partnership with Sony, according to Mac Rumors. The "Harry Potter" eBooks being sold at the iBooks Store will cost $9.99 each in the U.S. They will also be available in several languages such as French, German and Spanish.
