TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin will likely need to make a position switch when going to the NFL, and former NFL scout Bucky Brooks sees wide receiver as the best fit for Boykin, according to Chase Goodbread of College Football 24/7.

Boykin was an early favorite for the Heisman trophy coming in the 2015 college football season, and he is bolstering his resume after throwing five touchdowns against the Texas Longhorns last week. In five games this season, Boykin has thrown for 1,802 yards with 19 touchdowns. Boykin is an athlete whose skills will likely translate at a different position in the NFL.

Boykin has rushed for 242 yards this season and has scored two touchdowns on the ground. He won't be the first college quarterback to switch to a new position in the league, as many players have done it in the past. Ohio State wide receiver Braxton Miller was a quarterback prior to making the switch this offseason, and likely knew getting experience at the position in college would only help his chances at the next level.

"He and Braxton Miller are in the same category, kind of a hybrid. Most people will take those guys and make them receivers, just because the transition is easier. The transition to running back can be a little more challenging in terms of bulking up to run it between the tackles, and being a factor in pass protection. I see him as a guy who could play in the slot, but also be a gadget guy, and someone who can help on special teams," said Brooks via nfl.com.

While Boykin is having an amazing senior year with the Horned Frogs, there are no guarantees at the next level. It will likely be difficult for Boykin to transition to receiver in the league, but he is a tremendous athlete that most wouldn't count out.
