UPDATE 12:36 p.m.: Police have apprehended the 17-year-old suspect, whose threat caused the campus to be placed on lockdown, according to CNN. Police are now searching for the weapon, as it wasn't on him at the time of the arrest.

12: 21 p.m.: The Community College of Philadelphia is under lockdown after news broke out about an active gunman being sighted on campus.

The lockdown was ordered around 10 a.m. Tuesday inside the campus' Bonnell Building when a male reported that he was threatened by another male with a gun, according to ABC's Philadelphia associate WPVI-TV.

Nearby Masterman High School was also placed on lockdown.

Police are currently searching for a male reported to be around 5-foot, 4 inches tall wearing a blue vest, red hoodie and grey sweatpants, reported NBC Philadelphia. Initial reports placed the gunman inside the Bonnel Building, but the search yielded no results.

This incident comes a day after the FBI and ATF warned Philadelphia-area colleges about an anonymous threat posted to the website 4chan.

The post read: "On October fifth, at 1pm Central time, a fellow robot will take up arms at a university near Philadelphia," That deadline, however, expired without incident so it's unclear if this incident and the threat are related.

Police said they had no reports of shots being fired or injuries.
