Warning: The following contains spoilers for AMC's "Fear The Walking Dead."

AMC finished up its first season run of "Fear The Walking Dead," the totally-not-a-prequel series to the brain devouring hit "The Walking Dead," on Sunday night in explosive fashion. The episode saw the first death of a major character (R.I.P. Liza) and a full-blown Walker horde attack (Daniel's "Save your ammunition" line was fantastic). It also hammered home the notion that safety will be the rarest of commodities to find in this new world.

So what can fans expect from the eventual second season of "Fear The Walking Dead?" While executive producer Gale Anne Hurd wouldn't give anything concrete away, she did hint at what's to come in a conversation with Entertainment Tonight.

"Well, clearly [the main characters] have compatriots now," Hurd said when asked what is next for "Fear's" core family. "The Salazar family and also with this mysterious character that we introduced, Strand...And he brought them to his home and pointed out that he doesn't plan to stick around because he's got a boat off shore, the Abigail, so that's one means of escape. So that's an interesting thing that we've never really explored before is different modes of transportation than horse or car."

Walkers at sea would most certainly be a first for "The Walking Dead" universe and could provide viewers with an entirely new angle on the zombie apocalypse. Hurd and the rest of AMC's brass has maintained all along that they don't want "Fear The Walking Dead" to just be a retread of its predecessor. They want the story to be able to stand on its own while giving audiences a new perspective on the end of the world.

So far, so good.

"Fear The Walking Dead" is expected to return sometime next summer while season six of "The Walking Dead" will debut on AMC this Sunday at 9:00 PM ET.
