The iconic Nancy Drew book series is being brought back to the small screen, but this time, the sleuth is all grown up! CBS is bringing the detective back to television with the help of "Grey's Anatomy" producers Joan Rater and Tony Phelan, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The new TV series will be a modern take on the character we all knew and loved as children.

"A contemporary take on the character from the iconic book series," the pitch reads, according to Entertainment Weekly. "Now in her 30s, Nancy is a detective for the NYPD where she investigates and solves crimes using her uncanny observational skills, all while navigating the complexities of life in a modern world."

This isn't the first time Hollywood has tried to recreate the series, which author Edward Stratemeyer started in the 1930s. There have been five feature films and three television shows, according to Deadline. The most recent Nancy Drew movie was released in 2007 and starred Emma Roberts. The longest running television series based on the character ran from 1977 to 1979 on ABC.
