Get ready for more TV reboots. CBS is planning to bring back "MacGyver" while Fox adapts "Lethal Weapon" for the small screen.

The revived "MacGyver" will follow a similar storyline as the original series that ran for seven seasons on ABC from 1985 to 1992, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A 20-something MacGyver is recruited by a clandestine organization and solves problems in unconventional ways to prevent potential disasters from happening.

R. Scott Gemmill will write the script and executive produce while remaining an executive producer on CBS's "NCIS: Los Angeles." James Wan will executive produce and direct a potential pilot. They will both work with original "MacGyver" executive producer Henry Winkler, who will take on the same responsibility for the reboot.

"Lethal Weapon" has no personnel from the original movies involved in their reboot, but the original filmmakers have given their blessings to the new show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The TV adaptation does come from Warner Bros. Television whose film division, Warner Bros. Pictures, produced the movies.

The TV version will also take its plot from the original source material. A Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs (portrayed by Mel Gibson in the four movies) moves to Los Angeles after the death of his wife and baby. He partners with LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh (originally played by Danny Glover), who has recently suffered a minor heart attack and must avoid stress in his life.

"MacGyver" and "Lethal Weapon" join the recently announced reboots of "The A-Team" (being shopped by 20th Century Fox), CBS's "Training Day" and Fox's "Behind Enemy Lines as well as "The Notebook" and "Friday the 13th" for The CW.

The networks premiered three reboots this fall including Fox's "Minority Report," NBC's "Heroes Reborn" and CBS's "Limitless." Upcoming TV revivals include "The X-Files" on Fox, "Rush Hour" on CBS and "Uncle Buck" on ABC.
