After the killing of two Israelis in Jerusalem, Benjamin Netanyahu, prime minister of Israel, has decided to employ new measures to counteract terrorism, according to The New York Times. Netanyahu voiced his concerns in a meeting with the United Nations in New York City.

There has been a recent string of Palestinian terrorism in Israel, and this has led to Netanyahu taking steps to defend Israeli lives and soil. "We are in an all-out war against terrorism and we will wage it aggressively," Netanyahu said, according to Sputnick News. Netanyahu's new tactics of fighting terrorism have been deemed "a very harsh response," by political science professor Shlomo Avineri at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

The recent nuclear agreement between the U.S. and Iran was greatly opposed by Netanyahu, according to CNN. "Let's block Iran's other aggression in the region, because they're doing everything. They're trying to encircle Israel with a noose of death," Netanyahu said. "They're sending weapons to the Houthis. They're in Iraq. They're in Afghanistan. They're all over the place. In Yemen, of course. Let's bolster those forces to stand up to Iran's aggression in the region, and none is stronger, none is more reliable than Israel."

Netanyahu also spoke of his desire to cooperate with the U.S. to reduce Iran's influence citing his meeting with Secretary of State John Kerry and upcoming meeting with President Barack Obama in November.
