Former "Real Housewives of New York" star Jill Zarin was hospitalized Friday following a car accident in New York City, but luckily, she didn't stay there for long.

Zarin's sister, Lisa Wexler, confirmed the news on Twitter following the accident. "My beautiful sis @Jillzarin TODAY at 5:30, thk G-d OK after car crash on FDR," she wrote.

The crash took place around 1 p.m. on FDR Drive, which is a section of the freeway on the east side of the Manhattan borough of New York, and was considered "a major car accident," a source told Radar. She was not wearing her seat belt, and the car was going about 30 mph when her publicist, who was driving the car, slammed on the breaks "and crashed into a three-car pile up!" Zarin was on her way to promote her new SYFY thriller "Night of the Wild."

She was apparently unconscious at the scene of the accident and was taken to the hospital for back pain and some slight tingling down her spine.

"Jill Zarin was rushed by ambulance to the hospital where she was treated for unknown injuries and later released," her rep told Us Weekly. "Zarin is currently at home recuperating and no additional details are available at this time."

"She's feeling better," her rep also told Entertainment Tonight. "She went to the hospital but is okay now."

Zarin's assistant also sent out a tweet from Zarin's personal account. "Hi everyone this is Jill's media assistant @MaggieRey7046. Jill is doing well and resting after the car accident this morning," she wrote, adding, "Any tweets since the accident had been scheduled by me. Sorry for any confusion."
