Manchester United is finally putting their money where its mouth is when it comes to bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back, according to the Daily Star. A transfer sum of $92.5 million pounds and $14.7 million pounds per year is reportedly coming from United. Since the day Ronaldo left for Real Madrid back in 2009, it seems like the Red Devils never recovered from his loss.

The Daily Star also reported that the chances of Ronaldo leaving Madrid at the end of the La Liga season are growing incredibly greater. Two different super clubs hold interest in the famed striker - United and Paris Saint-Germain. Both clubs hold the needed capital needed to make the move possible, however, spending such a large sum on only one player seems incredibly counter-productive.

From the standpoint of making the team better, adding Ronaldo to either squad, especially Man United, would easily make them a top contender in both UEFA Champions League and the Premier League. United own talented players like Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, David De Gea and more. Each player would benefit substantially from CR7 coming "home." When it comes to spending so much money on a single player, however, the payoff of signing one elite player over three or four great players does not make much sense.

Manchester United needs extra support on their backline and taking the money rumored to be for Ronaldo and applying to actual needs - not wants - would enhance the respectability of the club. From an attacking point of view, United is just fine. Rooney, along with Mata and Anthony Martial, hold down the fort and have plenty of support from the midfield. As stated earlier, yes, having Ronaldo on your team instantly makes you a title contender, however, it is not the smartest idea financially.

United has a proper direct with Louis Van Gaal running the show as manager. Since taking over before last season began, Van Gaal has turned the club around and started laying the foundation for another successful run at a league title and possible Champions League title. The Red Devils came from behind against Wolfsburg on Wednesday night to win 2-1. By winning the match, it places Man United in control of the group and continued to showcase the remarkable job of Van Gaal and his new tactics with the club.

Ronaldo should leave Madrid if he is feeling unsettled. Neither PSG or Manchester United should spend their money on him, though. Each club has glaring holes that must be filled as soon as possible. Take the money from the Ronaldo deal and fix your roster gaps before thinking of a marque transfer.
