FIFA has officially released the dates for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, according to ESPN FC. The tournament kicks off on Nov. 21 and will conclude on Dec. 18, which is also Qatar's National holiday.

Officials at FIFA came under heat after moving the International tournament from it's usual June-July schedule to November-December. The reasoning behind the move is due to the horrifically hot summers in Qatar. While the reasoning makes sense, one major piece of the World Cup is the consistency of a summer tournament.

Having the tournament in the later part of the year changes how clubs will prepare for mid-season pushes and if your favorite team plays in MLS, possible absences during the playoffs. FIFA plans to reduce the schedule of the tournament by four days in order to accommodate the previously stated issue, according to Bleacher Report.

Followers of the soccer world know that FIFA is being investigated for multiple scandals and financial problems, which lead many to demand a change in location. Another strike against Qatar hosting is their statement of how many people will die from creating brand new cities and stadiums for this tournament.
