Disney's wildly successful live-action fairy tale "Enchanted" charmed audiences after its 2007 release. Now the company is attempting to revive its modern twist on princess films with a sequel, reported Collider. The film is getting a push now under the working title "Disenchanted."

Plans for the sequel began in 2010, according to ComicBook.com. Disney brought on writers J. David Stem and David N. Weiss in July 2014, but no further news on the project had been released until now.

With director Anne Fletcher ("The Proposal") at the helm, the film's script is currently undergoing a revamp so the project will be given the green light, according to Collider's sources. So far, no details about the storyline have been released, but judging by the title, it looks like Princess Giselle (played by Amy Adams) might be in for a rude awakening.

No word yet on which actors from the original cast will return to reprise their roles. James Marsden, Patrick Dempsey, Susan Sarandon and Idina Menzel (of Disney's other modern princess hit "Frozen") all played important characters in the first film, according to IMDB.

Adams has said she was a fan of the film and, in a 2014 interview with Moviefone, revealed she was even perplexed that Disney hadn't done anything to speed up the process of producing a sequel.

"I don't know," Adams told Moviefone when asked why there hasn't been a sequel yet. "Maybe because it's a perfect stand alone movie. Do you know what I mean? It has a great beginning, a great middle and a great end. I watched it recently, because I typically don't watch my work a lot, and I thought, 'I really like that movie.' It was nice to revisit that work and have really positive feelings about it. But I think it works so well. Maybe."
