Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Kiko Alonso will have his injured knee scoped by Dr. James Andrews, according to Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News.

Alonso will have his knee scoped to determine the severity of the injury. The injury was reported as a partial tear of the ACL, but more information may be released after Dr. Andrews has performed the procedure.

Alonso injured his knee in week two against the Dallas Cowboys, and since then he has been in jeopardy of missing the rest of the 2015 season. Alonso reportedly went to see Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion on the injured knee, according to Eliot Shor-Parks of NJ Advance Media.

Alonso missed all of last season with a torn ACL in the same knee. The timetable for Alonso's return is uncertain, and whether he needs surgery or not has yet to be determined. Eagles head coach Chip Kelly seems optimistic about Alonso's return.

"Because we have two linebackers down that aren't an injured-reserve candidate type of guys in Mychal (Kendricks) and Kiko, so you have to figure out where to get that extra spot," said Kelly via NJ Advance Media. Kelly was talking about roster spots and the need for offensive lineman, but he let out information by saying the Eagles don't think Alonso will go to injured reserve.

The Eagles traded LeSean McCoy to acquire Alonso, and the Eagles will likely need him back to make a push in the NFC East. The Eagles play the Washington Redskins this Sunday, and Alonso will not play, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.
