A Michigan man set his car and a gas pump on fire on Tuesday while trying to kill a spider while pumping gas. Surveillance cameras caught the entire incident on video at the Mobile Station, where the fire engulfed the motorist car and the gas pump, according to FOX News. Luckily, no one was injured.

The motorist, who claims to be deathly afraid of spiders, saw a spider on his gas tank and tried to "kill it" using his cigarette lighter.

"He didn't have a cigarette. He didn't have anything on him. All of a sudden I look out and I see flames," Mobile employee Susan Adams said.

"It shocked me because it was like, 'So how did it catch on fire,'" said Adams, Detroit's CBS affiliate reported. "And when I asked him after everything was done I'm like 'Well, I know you wasn't smoking and you wasn't on the phone.' So he's like, 'Well I have static in my car.' So, I took it as that because when you have static you're supposed to get out the car and wipe your hands on your car."

When questioned by fire investigators, the man admitted to the whole incident that was confirmed in the video.

"I didn't find out until later that he seen a spider and tried to burn it," said Adams. "Which, the spider did get burned but nothing happened to his car."

Adams said that when the man admitted he had set the pump on fire, accidentally of course, while trying to kill the spider he apologized, saying he didn't realize gas was flammable, according to the Inquisitr.

It's been a rough week spider wise. An Indiana woman exited her moving car when she spotted a spider on her shoulder even though it was in gear and her son was in the back seat. In a separate incident, a tarantula that escaped its container in cargo hold grounded a Delta flight for three hours.
