A teenage girl from Pennsylvania drenched security guards at the Wilkinsburg High School then attempted to set them on fire, police authorities have revealed.

Imani Knight-Brantley, 16, was kicked out of the school last week after she was caught using her cellphone during class. She came back on the same day to take food at an after-school program, but she was ushered out of the school premises by security guard Brandon Murray, according to The Smoking Gun.

In retaliation, Knight-Brantley returned to the school Monday morning carrying a two-liter bottle of Sprite filled with gasoline and a lighter that was stashed in her hoodie.

She then attacked the guards, spraying them with the gasoline but failed to ignite them with the lighter. Knight-Brantley was arrested and charged as an adult with aggravated assault, risking reckless endangerment and carrying a weapon on school campus, Newsday reported.

Knight-Brantley confessed to attempting to set Murray on fire, but not the other guard Leah Pyle, and said that she was provoked by him during Friday's incident where he kicked her out and she threw a milk carton at him, which resulted in her suspension.

The teenager's bond was set at $100,000, and she was ordered to undergo an evaluation over her mental health during an appearance before the court on Wednesday. However, she has yet to set a plea to the charges, according to People.
