A baby was found dead in a Walmart parking lot, prompting Macedonia, Ohio, police to conduct a full investigation on the infant's tragic death, according to USA Today.

Police in Macedonia received a call at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday of an unresponsive infant in the backseat of a parked car.

Supposedly, a parent or guardian was taking three other children to daycare, but unwittingly left the baby in the car, then the grandmother took the car to work at Walmart, unaware that the child was left inside, according to NBC News.

The grandmother received a call from the mother, saying that her baby was missing, and soon after found the unresponsive infant in the thrid row of the Buick Rendezvous she took to work.

The baby reportedly spent several hours outside in the car, exposed to the weather and in complete isolation.

The man who took the children to daycare, allegedly forgot the infant and it is currently unknown what his relationship to the child was, according to KCCI.

The police are conductiong an investigation but so far it appears that no one intenentionally tried to harm the baby, saying that it appears to be "a tragic accident and not a matter of foul play."
