Selfies and food photos are two of the most popular photo subjects on social media. Now, a food manufacturing company has combined this into one unusual idea.

General Mills, the makers of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, has developed and launched a new device called the Selfie Spoon. Based on the popular selfie stick, the gadget is featured with a phone latch on one end and a spoon on the other end. It allows for an individual to take selfies as they scoop a bite of their favorite food.

The device has a camera remote and the stick extends to over 30 inches (76.2 cm). The colored part of the stick comes in purple color only.

"Gone are the days of eating a delicious breakfast and all your friends not knowing about it," says the voice over in its YouTube ad, "So why choose between eating and posting? With the Selfie Spoon, you can do both."

Released just this week, the Selfie Spoon's first batch have reportedly been sold out but more stocks are coming, according to Digital Trends. In case you're wondering who would spend money a Selfie Spoon, the device is actually free and interested parties only pay for shipping and handling, according to Mashable.

Mad props to anyone who can guess what this is.
