A New York couple was surprised to learn that they had won the lottery- the genetic lottery- after giving birth to identical triplets, a one-in-50 million possibility, according to Fox News.

Jason and Kelli Fenley gave birth to Miles, Owen and Noah on July 1 and announced the lucky birth at a conference in the Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola on Thursday.

The baby boys were born premature, each weighing under three pounds, and they had to remain in intensive care for about 51 days.

"Some people hit the money lottery. We hit the genetic lottery and we couldn't be happier," said Jason.

The couple said that the birth was quite the intense experience, with around 40 or so people in the room as Kelli was giving birth, the New York Daily News reported.

To keep track of the boys, the parents have issued a color system to readliy identify which baby is which.

"We color-code them," said Kelli, according to ABC News. "Owen is blue, Noah is gray and Miles is green. We dress them in that color, and paint their toenails that particular color."

The boys have one big brother, 2-year-old Aiden, making them a family of six.

"It's going to be an adventure," said Jason.
