Social Media website Twitter released a bunch of new data that showed exactly what fall 2015 TV show users were most excited about. The website split the categories into two: new shows and returning show.

The most tweeted about returning show was the long-running Shona Rhimes-produced "Grey's Anatomy" with over 2.2 million tweets. "Grey's Anatomy" was only ranked 6th last year and was higher on the list from Patrick Dempsey's much talked-about exit at the end of the previous season, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Coming in at the second most-tweeted about returning show was The CW's "Supernatural" with an impressive 2 million tweets. Third place was taken by AMC's hit show "The Walking Dead" with 1.9 million tweets, which was ranked No. 1 last year. Rounding out the top five most tweeted about new shows were "The Vampire Diaries" with 1.6 million tweets and "Once Upon A Time" with a strong 1.1 million. 90 percent of all the fall TV shows belonged to returning shows.

The most-tweeted about new show belonged to Ryan Murphy's next installment of "American Horror Story" starring Lady Gaga. "American Horror Story: Hotel" was tweeted about 1.1 million times. The next most tweeted about new show was Stephen Colbert's new "Late Show," which received more than 314,000 tweets. In third place was yet another new show from Ryan Murphy. "Scream Queens" was tweeted about more than 247,000 times and beat out fourth and fifth place new shows "Heroes Reborn" and "Supergirl."

An info graph made by Twitter shows that The CW show "The Flash" saw the most growth after its first season followed by "Jane the Virgin" and "How to Get Away with Murder."

Overall, the fall 2015 TV season was tweeted about 21 million times and was up 34 percent from last year.
