Chris Hardwick and Lydia Hearst are getting married! The 43-year-old "Talking Dead" host and Nerdist CEO proposed to the 30-year-old heiress on the same night he picked up an Emmy for Best Creative Achievement in Interactive Media for his show "@Midnight With Chris Hardwick."

"My biggest win of the night was actually @lydiahearst saying YES!!!!" Hardwick, 43, wrote on Instagram along with a photo of Hearst's engagement ring.

"This ring belonged to her grandmother Catherine Hearst, and @patriciahearst has graciously and wonderfully passed it down to me to give to Lydia," he explained. "IT'S OFFICIAL!!! What an absolutely perfect and amazing night!! I love this woman with all my heart....#YesThisMeansWhatYouThinkItMeans."

The bride-to-be posted a romantic black-and-white photo of the two, with the caption, "I said YES!!!!!! Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite. You completely swept me off my feet. You have shown me what it feels like to be loved and I love you with all my heart. My life is better because you are in it @nerdist."

The newly engaged couple, who began dating in 2014, appeared together on the red carpet for Saturday's Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles and were later spotted at the Chateau Marmont after the ceremony.

In a follow-up post, Hardwick detailed his proposal to Hearst, who is the daughter of Patricia Hearst and the late Bernard Shaw, and is the granddaughter of publishing titan William Randolph Hearst.

"All snazzed up on the red carpet! @lydiahearst had NO IDEA what I was planning for later," he said in a lengthy post. "I told her there was a small Emmy after party at the Chateau Marmont. [But] when we got up to the room I had to confess that I had tricked her when I pulled out the room key.

"I opened the door, and the room was filled with wild flower bouquets and purple rose petals all over the floor (apologies to the housekeeping dept)," he continued. "And then ... IT HAPPENED. I pulled out a candy ring (the one she's getting for real is in NY and needs to be sized). She affirmed that this union was mutually agreeable by bursting into tears. Then there was kissing and cry breath. It was a scene so romantic. I'm surprised a Rachel McAdams movie didn't break out around it. I'm guessing it will ultimately be the only Hearst wedding whose registry includes @thinkgeek."

Hardwick had a long relationship with actress Janet Varney and was also once engaged to "Real World" alum Jacinda Barrett. Hearst dated "Entourage" star Kevin Connolly for a year before calling it quits in May 2014.

Congratulations to the newly engaged couple!
