Australian actress Essie Davis has been cast for season 6 of HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones," Watchers on the Wall reported. Davis is best known for her roles in the two "Marix" sequels and the 2014 horror film "The Babadook."

Davis is reportedly playing a member of a traveling theatre group of actors in Braavos that stars in a play called "The Bloody Hand," according to Variety. The play is meant to mirror the real world of Kings Landing and all the scandals the capitol of Westeros has seen. Davis plays a version of Cersei Lannister in the play. Davis' actress character is described as "in her early 40s, she's an elegant actress with a traveling theatre company. She is a fun, charismatic, rum-drinking actress in the troupe."

Davis is the latest actress to join the incredibly secretive sixth season of "Game of Thrones." The role of actor Richard E. Grant has remained a mystery since his casting, but according to Vanity Fair, he plays the leader of the traveling troupe. His character plays the role of Robert Baratheon, the deceased king and husband of Cersei Lannister. Grant's character is described as the "larger-than-life leader of a troupe of actors" who "specializes in portraying drunken aristocrats."

"Game of Thrones" season six returns to HBO in Spring 2016.
