James Franco is heading back to school this fall. The actor announced that he will teach a film class at the Palo Alto High School in Silicon Valley, Calif. via his Instagram account, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

"PALO ALTO HIGH SCHOOL - I will be teaching an 8 part film class for HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS," the 37-year-old "Palo Alto" star wrote in his caption. He instructed potential students to click on the link in his bio to sign up.

There are 24 seats available in Franco's class, and students from grades 9-12 are eligible to enroll online. In order to be considered for a spot, students must submit a 200-word essay on why they'd be a good fit for the program by Sept. 10, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They must also introduce themselves in a one-minute cell phone-shot video, to be submitted along with the essay. In the eight-part class, students will produce a film that will be screened at a film festival.

This isn't the first time that Franco has taken on a role as a teacher in real life. He also announced that he would be teaching a class at his film school Studio 4 in an Instagram post earlier this year, TIME reported. The school offers acting, writing, improv, audition, directing and producing classes in New York and Los Angeles.
