Matt Murdock will make a friend in the New York District Attorney's office when "Marvel's Daredevil" returns for season two on Netflix. Stephen Rider will play the D.A. character Blake Tower, an establish character in the Marvel comics, according to Deadline.

Tower will assist Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil (Charlie Cox) with information to help track down and capture criminals. The African-American Rider will play the originally Caucasian character, who first appeared in "Daredevil" #129 in 1976.

Rider's previous credits include "The Butler," "The Host" and a guest-starring role on Showtime's "Shameless."

In addition to Tower, "Daredevil" will introduce popular characters Elektra (Elodie Yung) and The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) to its roster. Bernthal teased his character's arsenal in a recent Twitter pic.

Production has started on season two in New York City. The new season will premiere next spring after Netflix debuts its second series with Marvel, "A.K.A. Jessica Jones," which is set to premiere later this year.
