Teenagers from China are once again initiating another body challenge that is fast becoming popular on social media. Called the "reverse prayer" challenge, these kids have been recruiting others to share a photo of themselves on the internet with their hands clasped in a praying position on their back side.

It's the latest body challenge craze aimed at showing a person's thin and flexible physique, according to Daily Mail. The craze has been emerging on Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter.

Participants who are able to successfully do the reverse prayer are called "goddesses" if they are able to reach their fingertips right around the neck, while those who can only do the pose on their lower backs are called "losers," the news outlet reported.

Some hold mobile phones between their hands to show off even more flexibility, according to New Zealand Herald.

Back in June, Chinese teenagers also came up with the belly button challenge that had the kids aiming to reach their belly buttons with their arm going around their body, as HNGN reported. Like the previous challenge, the reverse praying challenge is also drawing criticisms.

"It is certainly irreverent and insulting to those to whom religion is a key part of their life. Those posting these images should be ashamed of themselves," said one Weibo user, the Daily Mail reported.

However, outside of the trending craze, the reverse prayer is actually a yoga pose called Paschim Namaskarasana or Viparita Namaskarasana and it promotes upper body strengthening, as well as tones the arms and abdomen, according to Art Of Living.
