Chief Roger Dooley sacrificed himself last season on "Agent Carter" when Dr. Ivchenko strapped an explosive device to his chest. Before it exploded, he jumped out the window to save his SSR agents. Everyone had to work quickly to track down the evil doctor and his partner with little time left to address the command vacancy.

A familiar face will fill that vacancy when the ABC show returns for season two, which recently started production. Marvel confirmed the new SSR chief with a photo from the set.

Agent Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj), who lost in leg in World War II, will take command when SSR operations move to Los Angeles where Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) will take on her next mission.

Carter and her fellow agents will spend much of the season tracking down their latest foe, Madame Masque, a more modern Marvel villain that the show will adapt for its time period. She will also reunite with her confidant Jarvis (James D'Arcy), who is in California helping his employer, Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), set up his new estate and a movie studio.

Season two of "Agent Carter" will debut in 2016 on ABC.
