Dover, in England was the location for an act of kindness that has taken the virtual world by storm.

A couple was walking during a downpour when they saw an Alsatian tied to a lamppost outside a Mark's and Spencer store, while its owner shopped inside. Seeing the dog getting drenched, the young man took off his coat to shelter the dog while the lady helped. The couple waited with the dog for about 20 minutes before its owner came.

Jon Sparkes, the assistant manager of Gala Bingo across the street, saw the couple get drenched in their effort to protect the dog, so, he gave them two umbrellas. "As you can see, the dude has taken his top off to protect the dog - the dog was there before the rain came. They've selflessly protected the dog from rain, and we've seen that and gave them umbrellas. They were really grateful, and they waited there until the owner came back, who was also very grateful to the couple," Sparkes said, according to Dogster.

The act of kindness came at a time when Kent was hit by more than a month's worth of rainfall in just 24 hours.

"We had no idea who they were, they just turned up and the guy had even taken his jacket off. Jon took them over some umbrellas to help them out. It wasn't raining originally, but after the dog had been waiting around five or ten minutes, there was just this sudden downpour. The couple stayed with the dog about 15 to 20 minutes for the owner to return. It wasn't like an animal cruelty thing, they were just being nice. It just started raining out of nowhere," said Ricky Cook, 28, who witnessed the whole event, reports the Irish Mirror.

The owner is said to be "very grateful" to the couple for their selfless act, reports liftbump.com.
