Jay Z may have joined Instagram over the weekend, but his alleged account was gone within 14 hours of going up.

An account named @Hovsince96 appeared on Saturday that posted a pair of photos featuring Jay Z and Michael Jackson. The hip-hop mogul was celebrating what would have been the King of Pop's 57th birthday.

"Happy Birthday to the King!" the caption read, according to New York Daily News. "This may be my first and last post."

Twitter never verified the account, but music executive Michael Kyser seemed to confirm it when he posted a photo of Jay Z on his phone looking at what appeared to be the Instagram app.

"Follow my brother @Hovsince96 ASAP," he captioned the pic.

Jay Z has kept a minimal presence on social media. He has tweeted only 236 times from his Twitter account, Mr. Carter @S_C_, since joining in November 2008.

His wife Beyoncé on the other hand has a tremendous following on Instagram with more than 44.4 million. Kim Kardashian recently dethroned her as the top celebrity Instagram account for followers.
