T-Mobile has expanded its 4G LTE coverage to 38 new markets since July and continues efforts to dominate the competitive high-speed business in the U.S.

As the consumers' demand for faster speeds on wireless network grows, the carriers' need to expand their 4G LTE blanket goes higher. In order to survive in the highly-competitive business where consumers are the kings, several leading mobile operators have gone far beyond their limits to fulfill their customer's needs.

One such operator is T-Mobile, which has expanded its 4G LTE coverage to 38 new markets since July. Despite such efforts, the network faces tough competition from rivals like AT&T and Verizon.

A latest update on T-Mobile's 4G LTE network reveals that the carrier now serves 180 million people across 154 markets in the U.S. The news is a huge jump for the company as it announced in July that the network covered 157 million people across 116 markets under its 4G LTE blanket. T-Mobile's latest move shows the network's determination to reach its goal to serve 200 million people in more than 200 metropolitan areas with 4G LTE services by the end of 2013. At the current rate, T-Mobile is sure to reach its goal within its targeted time.

T-mobile users aren't the only ones to receive the good news of 4G LTE service in new areas. The leaders in the business, AT&T and Verizon, also announced details of their expansion to new markets. While T-Mo continues to expand, AT&T has a long lead in the race.

In an announcement on Friday, AT&T revealed that its 4G LTE now covers 400 markets including the latest areas that include Alexander City, Alabama; Concord, New Hampshire; Jamestown, New York; Fresno, San Francisco; Stockton, California; Washington, D.C.; Springfield, Missouri; Columbus, Ohio; Nashville, Tennessee; Houston, Texas; Seattle and Tacoma, Washington; and Charleston, West Virginia.

As expected earlier in August, when AT&T announced the expansion of its 4G LTE network to a total of 370 markets, it was dedicated to cover 400 markets by the end of this year. We predicted that the carrier will reach its goal much before time and the company lived up to it.

The competition gets tougher as a company grows. The aim is not just to reach the top but it is highly essential to maintain the lead. For consistent service, Verizon can be crowned the largest 4G LTE service provider in the U.S. It covers more than 500 markets in the United States and continues to expand further.

Verizon announced Friday that the 4G LTE service it debuted in Boston and surrounding areas in December 2010, has now expanded within Shrewsbury. By doing so, the largest U.S. carrier serves 301 million people in more than 500 markets across the States.

"4G LTE is changing the way customers interact with the world via next generation apps, devices and solutions," Dave MacBeth, Executive Director of Network for Verizon Wireless, said in a press release. "By investing in wireless broadband, we're investing in local communities and economies where our customers live, work and play."

With the latest expansion, Verizon now covers more than 99 percent of its 3G footprint in the nation.
