The series is levelled at 1-1. Sri Lankan won the first Test and India bounced back by winning the second Test.

This will be Sri Lankan team's first Test without just-retired Cricket legend Kuman Sangakkara, Skipper Angelo Mathews sais he believes it would be a tough match for team without Sangakkara.

"It is going to be a very important game. It's going to be a decider. The wicket looks pretty good. It looks a sporting wicket," Sri Lanka skipper Mathews told reporters at the Sinhalese Sports Club ahead of the match, according to Ahmadabad Mirror. "There is a little bit of grass. We just have to play positive cricket, with batsmen looking to score runs and bowlers looking to take wickets."

India's team director Ravi Shashtri said Indian bowlers would dominate over Lankan given their impressive performance in second match. India has not won a Test series in Sri Lanka since 1993 and hopes to make history by clinching this series.

"The proof of the pudding is in the eating and the eating was over on the last day of the last Test. We will stick to our guns. We will play the way we have decided, like I said before the first Test match," said Shashtri, according to The Hindu.
