Amazon is reportedly readying a new Kindle Fire HD with a complete make-over and sources reveal that the redesigned tablet will be officially unveiled in the coming weeks.

While the love for big screens grows, the need for better and stylish devices is also in demand. Amazon is reportedly planning to announce a next-generation Kindle Fire HD in the coming weeks pitched against the stylish new tablets in the market such as the Google Nexus 7. Tech news site Boy Genius Report  leaked images of Amazon's upcoming stylish Kindle Fire HD on Wednesday.

The leaked pictures show a completely new-look Kindle. The traditional flat, curved look of the older versions of Amazon Kindle Fire is replaced by a new, sharp angular look.

The new design clearly will make a big entry in to the competitive tablet market. According to the BGR sources, two redesigned tablets are set to make a grand entry, one with a 7-inch screen and another with a larger 8.9-inch display. The images, however, only showed the smaller tablet but the site reports that the larger device will also feature a similar design.

The expected specifications are quite impressive as the yet-to-be-announced 7-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet will feature a high-resolution 1,920 x 1,200-pixel display and run on the latest 2GHz (or higher) quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. The storage will go as high as 64GB while the RAM will sport 2GB.

The 8.9-inch model is expected to feature a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel high-definition display and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Both the tablets will have Wi-Fi support and run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which will eventually get updated with 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The devices are designed for comfort even if held for longer hours. The speakers are pushed to the top of the device from the back of the device leaving nothing but Amazon's logo on the smooth back surface. This will give users a clear sound quality even if placed on the lap. The buttons have also got a new look, with the power and volume buttons moved to the left and the right side of the device, respectively.

It may be too early to project the prices, but considering the older 7-inch Kindle Fire HD is priced at $159 for 16GB and the 8.9-inch is available for $269, we can expect the prices around these price tags. Of course, if Amazon is planning to compete with the likes of Google Nexus 7, which starts at $229, then it should give another reason for buyers to choose its tablet maybe by lowering the price a little.
