Apple unveiled two new additions to its flagship smartphone family with the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C at a major press event at its Cupertino headquarters in Calif. on Tuesday. Among the new reveals for the devices, of course, came reveals of new cases for each device as well.

The iPhone 5C ("C" standing for "Color") debuted with several new cases for the low-cost option for iPhone users. The device itself comes in a variety of colors on its plastic backing including red, yellow, white, blue, pink and green. With Apple doing everything in its power to showcase the fun color options for the new iPhone 5C, it needed a clever solution for a case that wouldn't completely hide someone's choice to pop their smartphone look by purchasing a yellow iPhone. In order to solve this problem the iPhone 5C cases are known "color reveal" cases. They use cases are designed with a silicon and microfiber lining with cutouts in the lower half that will show the color of the phone and mix it with the cases, which are available in the same funky colors as the 5C as well as black. The neon colors all seem to match with one another, however they are quite loud for the more subtle smartphone owner, picking a case that is the same color as your 5C might be the way to go.

All six colors for the iPhone 5C will be available for $29 a piece when the phone launches on Sept. 20. Users can pre-order the iPhone C as early as Sept. 13.

Meanwhile, Apple unveiled a new set of cases for its high-end iPhone 5S as well. After all, it's difficult to imagine dropping money on a smartphone these days and not thinking about how it will look inside of a protective case.

The iPhone 5S cases are made of leather, an interesting choice by Apple, which typically steers away from more earthy options for sleek more elegant new-age designs. The 5S cases are also available in six different colors including red, orange, blue, pink, black and yellow. These cases, like the iPhone 5S itself, will run customers a little extra money with each priced by Apple at $39.
