Constantine Maroulis was arrested for the second time in one week after he was accused of violating a restraining order placed on him for allegedly assaulting his estranged girlfriend Angel Reed, reported TMZ.

The 39-year-old former "American Idol" contestant was taken into custody Sunday after accidentally sending an email to Reed, who is the mother of his 4-year-old daughter Malena. Maroulis has since been released on bail.

The restraining order stated Maroulis cannot have any contact with Reed. A representative for the singer said the email was sent by accident.

"Constantine accidentally sent her an email last night. It's truly a non-issue. To the best of my understanding, he was doing a lot of emails late at night, and she accidentally got included on a list. He has no interest in being in touch with her. His only interest is in seeing his child as soon as he can," Maroulis' rep told Us Weekly.

Last Wednesday, the Broadway star was arrested after getting into a physical altercation with his now ex-girlfriend. He was accused of throwing Reed on the ground and kicking her in the groin in their shared Wyckoff, N.J., home.

As previously reported by HNGN, Maroulis denied the allegations, insisting that he was the victim, not the aggressor. The argument reportedly began after Maroulis tried to break up with Reed. She accused him of having an affair with a woman from their daughter's school. Reed's lawyer reportedly took photos of her injuries.

"She became angry and began attacking him," Howard Bragman told Us Weekly at the time. "During the course of the attack, she hit him with her fists and threw numerous objects at him. He sustained a bruise and cut on his right thigh. He did not throw her to the ground or kick her in the groin during this incident. He consequently left their home to protect himself and to diffuse the situation. Some time later the local police came and arrested him for domestic abuse."

Maroulis finished in sixth place during the fourth season of "American Idol" in 2005.
