With Apple's big unveiling of the iPhone 5S and iPhone C just a few hours away, several new and exciting rumors have cropped up at the eleventh hour regarding the device's release date and some more information on the highly anticipated, but still unconfirmed fingerprint scanner.

According to sources from GottaBeMobile the new iPhones will be available on September 20. The site credits two "reliable" sources who shared details regarding Apple's plans for the new smartphone's launch.

The sources are from noted U.S. wireless carriers. They were not able to confirm any rumors about the rumors that say the company will be unveiling a 128GB iPhone 5S.  The sources were also unwilling or unable to confirm the price of the new iPhone models however, they have confirmed they are gearing up to sell the devices on Sept. 20.

Meanwhile, another set of leaked images of the supposed packaged iPhone 5S, ready for shipment, shows what is being called the "Touch ID," Apple's long rumored biometric fingerprint scanner.

According to Cult of Mac, Nowhereelse.fr has supposedly grabbed the official illustrated guide to the iPhone 5S which shows a Home button/Touch ID sensor at the bottom of the device.

While these rumors are unconfirmed, based on the photo and the name "Touch ID" itself, all of the new evidence seems to be, as Gizmodo, which originally reported the news put it "very Apple-sounding."

A finger-print scanner would allow the iPhone to verify a person's identity in a significantly more effective way than the current four-digit code security system that the iPhone currently implements. The device would be able to scan and verify a person's identity based on the user's specific and unique fingerprint. This could even carry over into the App Store to ensure no purchases are made on the device except by its owner.

The live event kicks off at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET), all questions about the device's functions will be answered then. Stay with HNGN for more coverage.
