William Shatner is set to take on a new ship, more specifically the first-ever "Star Trek" cruise ship.

The 84-year-old actor, who played Captain James T. Kirk in the popular franchise that first hit the airwaves in 1966, has announced that he will host "Star Trek: The Cruise," which is set to embark on Jan. 9, 2017 on the Norwegian Pearl from Miami, according to USA Today.

Shatner will hit the high seas on the six-day voyage with the help of other Star Trek icons as part of the franchise's 50th anniversary celebrations, and he says he will treat fans to a "totally immersive" experience.

Two hundred and twenty thousand passengers are expected to fill the ship. Fans who want to take part in the cruise must pay $975 for a ticket, and those who want to take advantage of top price packages must fork out as much as $7,500, the Daily Mail reported.

Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Denise Crosby and John de Lancie from "Star Trek: The Next Generation," Robert Picardo from "Star Trek: Voyager" and James Darren from "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" will join Shatner during the week-long cruise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
