George Takei is best known for portraying Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu on the popular 1960's television show "Star Trek" alongside William Shatner and Leonard Nemoy. In an interview with "The New York Times Magazine," Takei opens up about his long term feud with co-star Shatner.

"It's not tension, it's all coming from Bill," Takei explains about the not so prviate feud. "Whenever he needs a little publicity for a project, he pumps up the so-called controversy between us."

The two have been at odds ever since the "Star Trek" days. "It's difficult working with someone who is not a team player," Takei says. "The rest of the cast all understand what makes a scene work - it's everybody contributing to it. But Bill is a wonderful actor, and he knows it, and he likes to have the camera on him all the time."

Shatner made a famous YouTube video ranting about how he did not receive an invitation to Takei's recent wedding. Takei insists this is not the truth and that Shatner was indeed invited to his wedding all along.

"Two months after my wedding, he went on YouTube and ranted and raved about our not sending him an invitation," Takei explains. "We had. If he had an issue, he could have easily just phoned us before the wedding, simple as that. But he didn't. And the reason he raised that fuss two months later is because he was premiering his new talk show."

Takei goes on in the interview to say that he does not need to forgive Shatner because he already has. The actor even invited him to the opening night of his new play "Allegiance," which debuts in November on Broadway.
