Apple has announced a a press event for September 10 where it is expected to unveil the new iPhone 5S and the iPhone C, the new-low cost iPhone with a plastic backing that will come in a variety of different colors and be significantly cheaper than its high-end cousins. The knowledge of what will happen at the press event has become so widespread throughout the tech community that it's caused many to wonder if Apple has something bigger up its sleave.

According to Digital Trends, last year Apple CEO Tim Cook promised that the company was going to "double down on secrecy" when it comes to upcoming future products. Given what we already know about Apple's Sept. 10 event, is it possible the company has anything else in the chamber to shock us at the unveiling.

Man have speculated that, given rival Samsung's latest unveiling of its Galaxy Gear smartwatch, it might be a good idea for Apple to finally unveil that it's working on a smartwatch of its own. The iWatch has been the not-so-secret product the company has supposedly been working on over the past few months. It has patented the name iWatch in several countries and made a few hires that indicate it is working on some kind of wearable wrist accessory, for example the Nike Fuel Band expert Jay Blahnik.

Typically, the late Steve Jobs liked to end all of his major press unveilings by adding "one more thing," it's possible that the iWatch will finall go from being a rumor to a reality.

However, it's possible the company will continue to withhold its wrist accessory until after Samsung's product has gotten some traction, perhaps it will receive negative reviews giving Apple the chance to swoop in at a later date. In fact, the iPhone C could be more than enough to push Apple fans over the edge of excitement. Rumors are circulating that the low-cost iPhone might go as low as $400 or $300. Add on a discount with a contract with any mobile provider and suddenly the iPhone becomes one of the most affordable smartphones on the market.
