This fall, Bill Hader will be reuniting with his fellow "Saturday Night Live" pals. The "Trainwreck" star is joining the cast of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and will replace Andre Braugher as the precinct captain in charge of Andy Samberg and company, according to TV.com.

Andre Braugher's character, Captain Holt, took a PR post with the NYPD in the Fox comedy's season two finale. Hader, who also features in IFC's upcoming mockumentary "Documentary Now!" will make a guest appearance on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine's" third season, which premieres on Sept 27. The network has not revealed how many episodes he will star in, but have described his character as "efficient," Entertainment Weekly reported.

The season premiere of the sitcom will also include guest appearances from Archie Punjabi, who was featured on CBS' "The Good Wife." Punjabi will portray the role of Lt. Knox, a police officer with an interest in Joe Lo Truglio's Detective Boyle, according to The Wrap.

Bill Hader, a SNL vet, was most recently seen opposite Amy Schumer in "Trainwreck" and is also a prolific voice actor, with roles in Pixar's "Inside Out," "The Good Dinosaur" and Sony's "Sausage Party."
