Fox has renewed new dramas "Gotham" and "Empire" as well as Andy Samberg's comedy "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" for new seasons next fall.

"Gotham" and "Empire" will enter their second seasons and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will start its third, the network announced during the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Saturday.

"Gotham" received the only full-season order for Fox's new shows last fall and continued to perform well, averaging 10.6 million viewers per episode. The DC Comics TV series, starring Ben McKenzie and Donal Logue, also gave the network its highest-rated fall drama debut in 14 years, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Empire" burst out of the gate when it premiered on Jan. 6 and actually grew its audience with episode two, the first broadcast drama of the season to add viewers in week two. The hip-hop dynasty show stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson and shares story-telling elements with "The Godfather" and Shakespeare's "King Lear."

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" continued to thrive as the show moved to Sunday nights this season. Samberg stars opposite Andre Braugher in the police comedy that also features Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz, Chelsea Peretti, Melissa Fumero and Joe Lo Truglio.

Fox also ordered a fourth season of "Masterchef Junior" earlier in the week and new seasons for its animated-comedies "Bob's Burgers," "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" this month.
