The Philadelphia 76ers figure to have quite a competitive training camp as they have a bunch of young guys that are trying to make a name for themselves. It was reported a few days ago that the 76ers had signed one of their many second round picks, Richaun Holmes, to a contract and that he would be participating in training camp even though he suffered a broken elbow in summer league play. The Sixers also reportedly will have one of their 2014 second round picks in camp this year too in Jordan McRae according to Jake Pavorsky of Liberty Ballers.

The 76ers and McRae have reportedly not agreed to a deal yet but the prevailing thought is that a deal will get done to get McRae into training camp.

McRae was the 58th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft and split time last season between Melbourne United in Australia and the D-League. In 40 games for Melbourne United McRae averaged 19.4 points and 4.5 rebounds in 31.5 minutes per game. In 13 D-League games McRae averaged 18.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

McRae was a four year player at the University of Tennessee where he improved every year. In his senior season McRae averaged 18.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 44 percent from the field and 35 percent from three. McRae is a very good scorer and has been at every stop along the way from college, to the D-League to Australia. Scoring isn't all McRae does though as he is a solid defender and should be able to hold his own on that end in the NBA given his size (6 foot-6) and length.

McRae likely needs to add a few pounds of muscle as he is extremely thin but if he does he has a chance to make an impact in the NBA. McRae's scoring ability will definitely play at the NBA level and if his defense continues to be above average he could sneak his way onto a roster and into the rotation. The 76ers don't have any standout wings so McRae might be in the perfect place to get his NBA career jump started.
