Around 1,000 musicians comprised of drummers, guitarists, bass players and singers come together in the town of Cesena, Italy to learn, rehearse and play the Foo Fighters track, "Learn To Fly" simultaneously, aiming to convince Dave Grohl and the rest of the band to come to their place and hold a concert.

The event was crowdfunded with more than €44,000 (nearly $50,000) for the Rockin1000 project aiming to encourage the band to play in Romagna for the first time since 1997, TIME reported.

One Reddit user who claimed to be present during the event said that there was a group of professionals in the center "to serve as 'reference' for each type of musician," Wired reported.

"They recorded demos and put out advice on the website for us participants. I guess the fact we had LED lights clicking like metronomes + really solid and tight drummers (which for example, us guitarists could still hear properly even though amps were fairly loud) + a great conductor sealed the deal," he said.

Extensive auditions, rehearsals and planning were conducted prior to the performance.

As of this posting, neither Dave Grohl nor any other member of the Foo Fighters have responded yet. However, knowing Grohl and how interactive he is with the band's fans, there is a big possibility that he will heed the call for a concert in their town.

The YouTube video was viewed more than four million times and received an overwhelming response from people around the world who are also supporting the project's goal.
