Foo Fighters frontman and guitarist Dave Grohl gave a new meaning to the term "rock royalty." The rocker performed at a concert on July 4 while seated on a throne made of guitars, E! News reports.

The former Nivrana drummer broke his leg last month after he fell off the stage while performing at the Ullevi Stadium in Sweden. He didn't let his injury prevent him from finishing his set that night, even though the band was forced to cancel the rest of its European tour dates so he could have surgery on his leg. But Grohl refused to let that stop him from playing for his hometown crowd over the Fourth of July weekend.

The Foo Fighters celebrated their 20th anniversary with a show at the Robert F. Kennedy Stadium in Washington, D.C., according to the Hollywood Reporter. Grohl's surgery left his leg in a cast, but he performed onstage anyway thanks to a huge throne made out of guitars, speakers and lights with the band's logo on the back - a chair fit for a true rock god. The musician sat perched on his seat, rocking out on guitar and singing his band's hit songs.

According to Spin, Grohl designed his throne himself and was "high as a f---ing kite" on morphine and oxytocin, medications prescribed to him post-operation.
