Like most things in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, its Netflix shows will premiere on a steady stream for years to come. The streaming service plans to release a new Marvel series or season every six months.

Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos made the scheduling announcement on Tuesday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. "Daredevil" is the only one of the four announced "Defenders" shows to air its first season with "A.K.A. Jessica Jones" planned for later this year.

"I think ideally there will be a rhythm of about every six months you'll get a new season or a new series from the Defenders group. And then they'll crossover into a combined [Defenders] season once we've launched the first season of each of the four characters," Sarandos said (via IGN).

"A.K.A. Jessica Jones," starring Krysten Ritter, will introduce the third "Defenders" hero Luke Cage, played by Mike Colter. Details on the fourth hero, Iron Fist, have not been revealed.

"Hopefully soon," Sarandos said about finding an "Iron Fist" star and showrunner. "It's always a little extra complex with Marvel in announcing things."

The Netflix exec also didn't clarify if all the shows will have more than one season like "Daredevil," which premiere its second season next spring.

"Some will selectively have multiple seasons as they come out of the gate. So they'll probably be two launches a year," he said.

"Daredevil" will feature The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) in its second season and the Marvel character could score his own Netflix series in the future.

"It is possible for sure. That's the beauty of the Marvel universe," Sarandos said, adding the possibility for any of the characters to hit the big screen as well. "Any of them could spin out into films too."
