A woman in Phoenix, Ariz., identified as Trina Heisch, was found in her home decapitated Saturday. With her were her two dogs who were mutilated as well. The 43-year-old suspect, her husband, was found in the home with a severed arm - cut off right below his elbow -  and missing his right eye, AZ Central reported.

It was 9:45 a.m. Saturday when George Loney, the couple's neighbor, decided to check on his friends after a few days of not hearing anything from them. It was Heisch's bloody husband who opened the door for Loney and decided to let him in the house. The neighbor discovered the bloodbath inside their home. On his way out of the house after witnessing the gruesome scene, the neighbor noted that the husband's injury seemed self-inflicted. Loney immediately notified that authorities, according to the New York Daily News.

Upon arriving, officers were able to detain the suspect who was immediately rushed to the hospital for an operation. Sgt. Trent Crump, the spokesperson for the police, said they found 45-year-old Heisch's body inside a walk-in closet and two dog corpses inside the house. Police discovered a number of knives inside the house, but the murder weapon has not been identified yet. Crump confirmed a domestic-violence relationship between the couple, AZ Central added.

Heisch was charged with domestic violence last March for trying to stab her husband, but was immediately released. Similar 911 calls happened multiple times in the past. Authorities will only identify the suspect after he is formally detained in jail, New York Daily News added.

The unnamed suspect said he killed "three family members." Police were not clear if the number includes the dogs, so they are also checking other relatives. The victim's husband has a domestic violence background and history of mental illness, said on the Huffington Post.
