Two baby Humboldt penguins are being hand-reared at ZSL London Zoo by Head of Birds, Adrian Walls, in their quest to help save the endangered animals.

The zoo had a live broadcast about the two baby penguin chicks through Periscope where Walls showcased how they are being hand-raised. The chicks are fed with small fish which were sliced to fit into their small beaks. There is even a recipe to make them their own Fish Shake.

The video also featured some behind the scenes of the upcoming brand-new ITV special documenting his pursuit to see endangered Humboldt penguins in their native habitat of Peru in South America. During the visit, he got a first-hand look at what’s being done to protect them and their habitat.

The ITV documentary, "Meet the Penguins," will be airing this Sunday (July 26) at 7:00 p.m. where the chick's wild cousins will also be featured.

" I am utterly fascinated and enchanted by all bird species, but penguins have always held a special place in my heart, and I feel so lucky to have been able to see them in the wild. My journey to Peru was one that I will cherish for the rest of my life," Walls said on the ZSL London Zoo website.

The Penguin Beach at London Zoo is known as a home to a colony of South American Humboldt penguins, which are listed as "Vulnerable" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, British Telecommunications reported.
