Just when you thought the media uproar over Miley Cyrus would start to die down, news from the New York Post's Page Six has broken that the singer is recording a remix of Kanye West's "Black Skinhead," skipping her own VMAs after-party to join the superstar rapper in the studio.

She shocked the world with her crazy, raunchy performance of "We Can't Stop" and "Blurred Lines" with Robin Thicke at the 2013 VMAs, and though she left the event at Brooklyn's Barclay Center early, Cyrus didn't simply go home or go out with friends for a night on the town in the Big Apple.

Instead, Miley Cyrus reportedly joined Kanye West for a late night, "top secret" collaboration in the recording studio. Guess it isn't so "top secret" anymore, as allegedly Cyrus's rep confirmed the collab to Page Six!

The "Black Skinhead" remix is likely set to appear on a new remix EP from West, to be released later this year. West and Cyrus were both performers at Sunday's VMAs, West presenting a haunting, live version of "Blood On the Leaves," quite the contrast to Cyrus's strange and trippy teddy-bear filled production.

Cyrus's over-the-top on-stage antics have spawned dozens of articles and celebrity interviews, including a rather sarcastic response from British boy band One Direction, whose bemused reactions to her performance were captured on film alongside Rihanna's unimpressed, snarky expression, in a reaction shot that has now gone viral in gif form.

"It was very reserved," Harry Styles dryly told Yahoo! News of Cyru's performance. "I think she's quite shy and it's about time she came out of her shell a bit."

"My thought was that it was very nice," added bandmate Liam Payne. "It was a nice performance. It was cute... timid."

While Cyrus may not have gotten the positive reaction she wanted, it's possible she knew her crazy behavior on-stage, which included gyrating on Robin Thicke, attempt to twerk and simulating masturbation with a giant foam finger, would get everyone talking. One thing is for sure: the public won't forget that performance, nor the name "Miley Cyrus," for quite a while.

As for her own new music, Cyrus's new single "Wrecking Ball" is already available on iTunes, along with the pre-order for her upcoming studio album, "Bangerz," set to hit stores Oct. 4. Her latest musical projects, which include a rapping feature on Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J's new song "23," are the first since she left her former Disney label Hollywood Records, and it looks like the girl who once claimed to have never heard a Jay-Z song is now a big fan of the hip-hop music scene.
