Shaun Robinson has made the decision to leave "Access Hollywood," after 16 years, to focus on her future within NBC.

Robinson, who first joined the show in 1999, will be leaving at the end of June, reported Access Hollywood. She plans to remain an active member of the NBCUniversal family, and will "focus on her future development and production endeavors" within the company.

"It's been an extraordinary 16 years here at 'Access Hollywood' and I am going to miss all my friends here because we are truly like a family," said Robinson on Wednesday. "Television has changed so much since I first sat at the anchor desk, and it's time to take my career to the next level. There are so many more opportunities awaiting me, both on camera and as a producer. I'm extremely excited about creating fun and meaningful content through my production company, Robinhood Productions, Inc., focusing specifically on empowering women and girls about which I am so passionate."

Robinhood Productions signed a TV development deal with NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution so Robinson can continue to produce and develop projects within.

"I will certainly be back in front of the camera soon," she continued. "I look forward to announcing my next on-air role in the near future."

Three years ago, Robinson considered leaving to explore her options but changed her mind later on, according to People. After a conversation with "Scandal's" Kerry Washington towards the end of last year, Robinson finally made the decision to push herself and seriously consider moving on to new opportunities.

"She told me about a point in her career where she said, 'I want to try something diferent,' and she tried TV and look where it got her," Robinson told People. "Everyone loves 'Scandal.' That conversation really resonated with me and inspired me to just go for my dreams and take that leap of faith."

"It's been an incredible ride," she said about her time on "Access Hollywood." "I'm so blessed to have been able to meet the people that I've met and to have covered the stories I covered on the show."

Many of Robinson's "Access Hollywood" coworkers said nothing but nice things about their time working with her.

Executive Producer Rob Silverstein spoke about her success and impact on the show, including her ability to make stars always feel comfortable when being interviewed. "We wish Shaun success and happiness as she moves into this new, exciting phase of her career," he said.

Senior Vice President Linda Finnell commented on her talent and undeniable work ethic. "We will definitely miss Shaun at 'Access Hollywood,'" she said. "But we are very happy for her as she enters in to this new chapter."

When it comes to her future goals, she admits to wanting her own show. "I think I have a lot to say," she said. "My dream job would be a younger, hipper version of 'Inside the Actors Studio.'"

"Access Hollywood" will air a special tribute to Robinson Tuesday, June 30, to honor all of her amazing work.
