A stunt gone wrong landed Shia LaBeouf in the hospital on Wednesday morning.

LaBeouf suffered injuries to his head and hand on the set of his new movie, "American Honey," in North Dakota, according to TMZ. He was rushed to a local hospital after a scene required him to put his head through a glass window.

The 29-year-old actor received 20 stitches and 13 staples to the left side of his head and his right index finger. LaBeouf was treated and sent home.

A rep for the "Transformers" star downplayed the incident, telling TMZ that he "sustained minimal injuries" during filming. "As protocol, production sought out medical attention and Shia received stitches on his hand and for a laceration on his head. He is due back on set [Thursday]."

"American Honey" is directed by Andrea Arnold and also stars Arielle Holmes and McCaul Lombardi. The indie flick is about a teenage girl who joins a traveling magazine sales crew and gets caught up in hard partying, law bending and young love across the Midwest.
