Orlando Bloom could very well be the next Batman. According to the London Express, the "Lord of The Rings" actor is the rumored new favorite to suit up as the Cape Crusader.

A Warner Bros. source reportedly told the British newspaper that executives were considering Bloom to star alongside Henry Cavill as Batman in the second "Man of Steel."

"Orlando looks odds-on to get the part even before our first casting call," the source said. "He would be perfect to play off Henry and I think US audiences would be happy with two Brits as the joint male leads."

According to the newspaper, Warner Bros. expects the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor to sign on as Batman before the fall and before they release a casting call for the other Justice League superheroes including Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter.

Ryan Gosling, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Armie Hammer have also been rumored to land the part as Batman. According to Digital Spy, Hammer has taken himself out of the running for the movie because he doesn't like superhero movies.

"I'm not actually a big fan of superhero films," he told Metro. "If you have a guy who is supposed to be invulnerable, then what's the point?"

He did tell Digital Spy who he thought would win in a Batman versus Superman fight.

"Batman wins. He's got more technology and he actually has a piece of kryptonite that Superman actually gave him to beat him," he said. "So I would have to go with Batman."
